Never a Dull Moment!
So, my little boy decided to give me a scare yesterday! Luckily my sister was over yesterday morning to save the day! I took Kate to preschool and Tommy was taking a nap. Mari was there to keep an eye on Tommy. When I got home she said Tommy had woken up and he looked like this!!!!! I took him right into the doctor. When I got there they got his weight, and temp which were both normal. Then they got the pulse ox (that measures the % of oxygen in your blood). If it is below 90% that means you aren't getting enough oxygen. All my cardiac rehab friends will understand!!! So, when they first put it on, it didn't look good, but then I noticed that it wasn't reading Tommy heart rate. If the pulse ox can't get a good heart beat the O2 level isn't accurate. Then when a heart rate finally did show up it showed his heart rate at 160 and his O2 at 84! NOT GOOD! The nurse left the room and suddenly there was the doctor and 4 other nursed crowed around my little boy! I got totally crowed out! I was not worried when I first got to the doctor's because Tommy was acting normal and looked like he was breathing fine. But when I was suddenly trying to look over the shoulders of about 4 people as they were figuring out if that was an accurate heart rate and if his oxygen was really that low, I completely freaked out! What is going on with my little boy! Anyway his heart rate was really only 120, not 160. When they finally got an accurate heart rate it said Tommy's O2 level was 93! Normal! Then I started getting the 10th degree about what he ate. And the truth is that he has had no new foods since last week! I don't think they believed me at first. They finally said that a virus could've caused a rash like this. They sent me home with lots of meds for Tommy. I must say that he started looking great after his first dose of a prescription anti-histimine. And today he looks completely normal!

How scary! I'm glad everything is ok. It's also good to know something paid off for those years in cardiac rehab :)
that's right good thing i was there and tommy is doing well i love you Tommy!!!
um i guess it says mom but it's really Mari who left that comment!!
Oh my gosh, how scary! That looks like a big-time allergic reaction to something. But as long as he's breathing, that's the important thing!
that's always scary...poor baby...glad mari was on the ball...
Oh scary!!!! Glad he is okay.
YIKES!
So glad he's okay, whatever that was.
I hate those kind of experiences. Poor little guy, I'm glad he's ok now. Let me know if I can help with anything.
I am so glad he is okay. Rashes like that are no fun! But I am glad everything turned out good! I can't believe how big he is getting. We need another girls night out.
Scary! I'm glad that he's ok.
That happened to Graham last year! It was scary, all of a sudden he is covered in a welted rash... It turned out to be nothing though.
I am glad Tommy was okay and that is wasn't anything serious!
