My Busy Boy

Here is Tommy stuck in the corner where we keep all of our toys! You might ask how he got there...He crawled!!! Tommy is on the move! He started crawling on Friday, and has figured out how to get around very quickly. I will put toys out for him, but he had decided that he was tired of the toys I put out so he discovered how to get to the rest of the toys! The only problem then was that he was stuck, and he sure doesn't look very comfortable! I think he was just very excited about finding all the toys!
Ever since Friday his knees have become very red! I feel so bad. He needs to toughen up his knees! We took him to the doctor today and I was told that they do sell baby knee pads! How funny would that look? I don't think I will invest in baby knee pads, but I feel so bad when I see his red knees! Speaking of the doctor, Tommy is not gaining enough weight! He only gained 1.4 pounds in 2 months! He is very skinny and very long. He weighs 14 pounds 9 ounces and is 27 1/2 inches long! I was told that I need to start supplementing with formula! I'm not very happy because when I went to the store to buy formula it was super expensive!! I don't think Tommy will take a bottle, but I will try. But I was also told I could add formula to all his baby food that he is eating. I think I will start with that. And I might even just try to give him formula in a sippy cup instead of a bottle. I don't want to get him stuck on a bottle. I say this because Kate who is almost 3 still uses her pacifier!!! Don't worry, we are going to give it away on her 3rd birthday! We have been talking about it, but it has been really hard for me to have her give that up! I can't imagine what it would be like for me to try and get rid of a bottle!!

How old is Tommy? I think 14 pounds for his age is great! Then again, all my girls have been lightweights and probably need to gain weight, too. I wouldn't worry too much about it. You know as his mother if he is healthy or not.
how sad about the red knees...he probably doesn't care much though, does he? he is so cute...i can't believe how fast they are growing up!
I can't believe he is crawling! Watch out! I'll be interested to hear how things work out with the formula!
So I have been adding formula to Andrew's food and he has now gained sufficient weight. I'm surprised they don't think he weighs enough- is he on the chart? Andrew's not anymore- oh well. I suggest asking your doctor about yogurt because that has also helped in the weight gain area- without having to supplement. Good Luck with this new mobile phase- we haven't joined that yet!
hey kelly. i was at the king soopers on parker and arapahoe on monday and in their clearance section by the bread they had 3 or 4 cans of the store brand formula for 5 bucks each. you might want to check it out. you can't get formula cheaper than that!
Crawling, already? Wow! That's why he's a lightweight -- how is he supposed to get fat if he won't stay still?
You probably already know what I'm going to say about the formula but I'm going to say it anyway -- Don't Worry About It. (or, if you must, I'd go with your idea of adding formula to his solids.)
Way to go Tommy! Garrett has those same cute jammies. Garrett has always been on the low end of norm for his weight too, but he is a super happy baby so I just kept doing what I was doing. He eats like a monster and never holds still so I figure he is just right where he is suppose to be. Tommy sure looks happy to me. Good luck with everything.
those knees will soon be tough..or maybe he'll start walking...
